Compared to last week, slaughter steers sold 3.00-4.00 higher on a
light test. Demand good. Ethnic Steers are steers sold primarily to the
ethnic market. Today those steers sold 2.00-3.00 higher on a light test.
Demand good. Not enough Slaughter Holstein steers last week for a
comparison. Not enough Slaughter heifers for a market test. Slaughter
cows sold steady to 2.00 higher on good demand. Not enough Slaughter
bulls for a market test. Cattle supplies included 128 steers;
66 heifers; 399 cows; 18 bulls; and 43 feeder calves. All prices per cwt.
Slaughter Steers: High Choice and Prime 3-4 1450-1600 lbs 122.50-
126.00. Choice 2-3 1225-1650 lbs 118.00-121.50. Select 2-3 1275-1600
lbs few 116.00-118.00. Ethnic steers 1300-1900 lbs 112.00-127.00,
mostly 122.00-126.00.
Slaughter Holsteins: Choice 2-3 1550-1675 lbs 81.50-88.00.

Slaughter Heifers: High Choice and Prime 3-4 1300-1325 lbs few

Return to Farm Holstein Calves: Compared to last week, Holstein Bull
calves traded mostly steady to 5.00 higher with the exception of Number
1 and 2 calves weighing 100-110 lbs selling 10.00-20.00 lower. Holstein
Heifer calves steady on a very light test. Ag Market News LLC under the
USDA-QSA-LMAR program graded 351 head for Thursday's sale. All calves
are sold by the cwt.
Graded Holstein Bull Calves: Number 1 100-130 lbs 55.00-67.00; 90-98
lbs 45.00. Number 2 94-128 lbs 50.00-64.00; 80-92 lbs 35.00-40.00.
Number 3 80-130 lbs 25.00-32.00. Utility 60-130 lbs 10.00-22.00.
Holstein Heifer Calves: Number 1-2 80-110 lbs 20.00-35.00. Number 3
70-100 lbs 15.00-20.00. Utility/Non-tubing 60-110 lbs 5.00-15.00.
