Compared to last week, after a major winter storm early in the week
had everything shut down, Slaughter steers sold 7.00-8.00 higher on a
very light test. High dressing Lean Steers are steers sold primarily to
the ethnic market and most are extremely lean. Those steers sold mostly
3.00-4.00 higher. Slaughter Holstein steers sold 8.00-9.00 higher also
on a very light test. Not enough Slaughter heifers for a market test.
Slaughter cows sold mostly 5.00-6.00 higher on very good demand. Not
enough Slaughter bulls for a market test. Cattle supplies included
95 steers; 37 heifers; 283 cows; 10 bulls; and 0 feeder calves.

137.00. Choice 2-3 1400-1600 lbs 128.00-132.00. Select 1-2 1200-1600

Return to Farm Holstein Calves: Compared to last week, Graded Holstein
bull calves sold mixed with Number 1 and 2 calves selling 20.00-40.00
higher with some steadiness in lighter calves under 100 lbs. Number 3 and
Utility calves sold steady to 10.00 lower. Holstein heifer calves sold
steady to 10.00 lower. Ag Market News LLC under the USDA-QSA-LMAR program
graded 451 head for Thursday's sale. All calves are sold by the cwt.
Graded Holstein Bull Calves: Number 1 120-130 lbs 137.00; 96-118 lbs
159.00-165.00. Number 2 106-130 lbs 135.00-162.00; 88-104 lbs 120.00-
130.00; 80-86 lbs 105.00. Number 3 72-130 lbs 67.00-77.00. Utility 60-
110 lbs 40.00-60.00.
