Compared to last week, slaughter steers sold 2.00-3.00 higher
compared to a very light test last week. High dressing Lean Steers are
steers are sold primarily to the ethnic market and most are extremely
lean. Those steers sold 1.00-2.00 higher on a light test. Slaughter
Holstein steers sold 2.00-3.00 higher. Slaughter heifers sold mostly
3.00-4.00 higher compared to a light test last week. Demand was good for
all classes. Slaughter cows sold mostly steady to 1.00 higher. Demand
was good. Slaughter bulls sold 1.00-2.00 higher compared to a very light
test last week. Cattle supplies included 223 steers; 96 heifers; 421 cows;
23 bulls; and 30 feeder calves. All prices per cwt.

calves sold mostly steady to 10.00 lower on moderate demand. Holstein
heifer calves sold mostly steady to 10.00 lower on a light test. Ag Market
News LLC under the USDA-QSA-LMAR program graded 393 head for Thursday's
sale. All calves are sold by the cwt.
Graded Holstein Bull Calves: Number 1 120-128 lbs 60.00; 90-118 lbs
77.00-90.00. Number 2 120-128 lbs 60.00; 80-118 lbs 72.00-84.00. Number 3
80-130 lbs 62.00-68.00; 72-78 lbs 55.00. Utility 60-98 lbs 20.00-30.00.
Holstein Heifer Calves: Number 2 80-110 lbs 145.00-175.00. Number 3
