Compared to last week, a good quality supply of cattle were on offer
this week for the upcoming Memorial Day holiday. Slaughter steers sold
mostly steady. Not enough high dressing Lean Steers for a market test.
Slaughter Holstein steers sold mostly steady. Slaughter heifers sold firm
on a light test. Demand was moderate to good. Slaughter cows sold 1.00-
2.00 higher. Demand was moderate. Slaughter bulls sold sharply lower on a
very light test. Cattle supplies included 314 steers; 63 heifers; 380 cows;
20 bulls; and 32 feeder calves. All prices per cwt.
Slaughter Steers: High Choice and Prime 3-4 1200-1600 lbs 122.50-
126.25; 1600-1700 lbs 119.00-122.50. Choice 2-3 1200-1600 lbs 119.00-
123.50. Select 1-2 1200-1650 lbs 112.00-119.00.
Slaughter Holsteins: High Choice and Prime 3-4 1200-1650 lbs 114.50-

Return to Farm Holstein Calves: Compared to last week, Graded Holstein
bull calves sold 15.00-20.00 lower. Holstein heifer calves sold mostly
steady on a light test. Demand was light with a few key buyers not in
attendance. Ag Market News LLC under the USDA-QSA-LMAR program graded 437
head for Thursday's sale. All calves are sold by the cwt.
Graded Holstein Bull Calves: Number 1 90-128 lbs 160.00-180.00.
Number 2 80-128 lbs 150.00-176.00. Number 3 90-130 lbs 130.00-142.00;
72-88 lbs 152.00-170.00. Utility 60-110 lbs 115.00-125.00.
Holstein Heifer Calves: Number 1 80-100 lbs 250.00-270.00. Number 2
80-115 lbs 200.00-260.00. Non-tubing/Utility 70-110 lbs 70.00-140.00.
