Compared to last week, slaughter steers sold mostly 2.00-3.00 higher.
High dressing Lean Steers are steers sold primarily to the ethnic market
and most are extremely lean. Today these steers sold mostly steady.
Slaughter Holstein steers traded mostly 3.00-5.00 higher on better
quality supplies and good demand. Slaughter heifers sold steady to firm
on a light test. Slaughter cows sold mostly steady to 1.00 lower. Demand
was very good. Slaughter bulls traded 1.00-3.00 higher. Demand was good.
Cattle supplies included 157 steers; 25 heifers; 495 cows; 11 bulls; and
7 feeder calves. All prices per cwt.
Slaughter Steers: High Choice and Prime 3-4 1300-1600 lbs few
130.00-131.50. Choice 2-3 1300-1600 lbs 127.00-130.50. Select 1-2
1300-1600 lbs few 121.50-126.50. High Dressing Lean Steers 127.00-

Return to Farm Holstein Calves: Compared to last week, Holstein bull
calves sold mostly 10.00-20.00 higher. Holstein heifer calves sold mostly
steady to 20.00 lower. Demand was moderate. Ag Market News LLC under the USDA-QSA-
LMAR program graded 562 head for Thursday's sale. All calves are sold by
the cwt.
Graded Holstein Bull Calves: Number 1 90-128 lbs 180.00-192.00.
Number 2 80-128 lbs 166.00-185.00. Number 3 80-130 lbs 155.00-174.00;
72-78 lbs 187.00. Utility 60-110 lbs 140.00-155.00.
Holstein Heifer Calves: Number 1 85-110 lbs 200.00-265.00. Number 2
70-120 lbs 150.00-210.00. Utility/Non-tubing 75-120 lbs 50.00-110.00.
