Compared to last week, Slaughter steers Choice and Prime sold steady to
3.00 higher, steers grading Select traded up to 9.00 lower. Demand has been
moderate. Supplies were seasonally light, but burdened the market this week
with a greater percentage of less attractive offerings. Bulls sold steady to
weak with moderate demand. Slaughter cows traded steady to 2.00 higher.
Cattle supplies included 243 slaughter steers; 76 heifers; 470 cows; 27
bulls; and 49 feeder calves. All prices per cwt.
Slaughter Steers: High Choice and Prime 3-4 1200-1400 lbs 169.00-179.00;
1400-1650 lbs 164.00-171.00. Choice 2-3 1200-1650 lbs 154.00-164.00. Select
1-3 1200-1600 lbs 144.00-149.00.
Slaughter Holsteins: Choice 2-3 1100-1400 lbs 144.00-147.00; 1400-1650 lbs
135.00-140.00. Select 2-3 1250-1600 lbs 127.00-133.00; 1600-1800 lbs 120.00-
126.00.
Slaughter Heifers: High choice and Prime 3-4 1250-1650 lbs 155.50-164.00.

Return to Farm Holstein Calves: Compared to last week ago Holstein bull
calves sold anywhere from steady-100.00/cwt lower.
Demand was moderate. Heifers sold sharply higher with advances anywher from
60.00-120.00/cwt. higher. Ag Market News LLC under the USDA-QSA-LMAR program
graded 570 head for Thursday's sale. All calves are sold by the cwt.
