**Lexington Monday sale held at Mt. Sterling until until new yards opens Sept. 11**

Compared with last Monday steer calves sold steady to 2.00 higher with moderate demand 
and heifers sold mostly steady to firm with moderate demand.  Yearlings no comparison with
last week's light test. Quality was plain through average.  Buyers showing preference for  
good quality weaned offerings. New crop, off-colored, and red-hided calves in light demand. 
Slaughter cows and slaughter bulls sold 1.00 to 2.00 lower with light demand.

08 replacement cattle, 43 slaughter cattle, and 411 feeder cattle.  Today's supply included
52.3 percent that weighed over 600 lbs. 56.7 percent steers and 10.9 percent bull calves
and 23.5 percent heifers. 33 slaughter cows with 94 percent going to slaughter.
10 head of slaughter bulls with 94 percent going to slaughter.
