**Lexington Monday sale held at Mt. Sterling yards while new yards is under construction**

No comparison with last week due to Holiday however market opened lower with a softer
undertone on lightweight calves today.  Limited buyer and farmer participation in the marketplace.
Buyers somewhat reluctant to purchase fleshy balling calves as CME feeder cattle futures
opened lower. Market somewhat unsettled following the holiday break. Good demand for 
preconditioned 500-600 lb packages today.  Good demand for slaughter cows and moderate
demand for slaughter bulls.

36 replacement cattle, 103 slaughter cattle, and 553 feeder cattle.  Today's supply included
39.8 percent that weighed over 600 lbs. 44.1 percent steers and 17.7 percent bull calves
and 19.2 percent heifers. 76 slaughter cows with 97 percent going to slaughter. 
27 head of slaughter bulls with 98 percent going to slaughter.
