Cattle Auction Report for 01/05/2015

Receipts:  1076   Last Week:  Holiday   Year Ago:  563  


   No comparison with last week stockyards were closed two weeks 
for Holidays however market was most active for 500-600 lbs calves.
Good demand for yearling steers in a light test.  CME cattle futures
have improved since their downturn the week before Christmas.  Light 
demand for plain to average quality Holsteins.  Quality was average
through good.  Good demand for slaughter cows and very good demand
for slaughter bulls.
   Total supply included 10% slaughter cows, 02% slaughter
bulls, 02% replacements and 86% feeders.  Feeder supply 
41% steers, 21% bulls, 38% heifers with 38% of feeders weighing 
over 600 lbs.
   

   Feeder Steers:  Medium and Large 1  200-300 lbs few 360.00-372.50;
300-400 lbs 310.00-330.00 few fancy 331.00-347.50; 400-500 lbs 275.00-
303.00 fancy 304.00-308.50; 500-600 lbs 241.00-268.00 few fancy
