 Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 5/1/2017

 Receipts:  5,991     Week ago:   9,053    Year ago:  5,689

    *** Add Close Updating Receipts ***  Compared to last week: Feeder steers
 and heifers 4.00-8.00 higher.  Steer and heifer calves not well tested;
 however, a higher undertone noted.  Storms and constant rain across most of the
 trade area has hampered livestock movement to the auction.  Demand moderate to
 good for feeder cattle as unseasonably heavy snows in Western Kansas and the
 Panhandles of Texas and Oklahoma limited movement to those feedyards.   Quality
 average to attractive.  Feeder supply included 62 percent Steers, 32 percent
 Heifers, and  6 percent Bulls. Feeder Supply over 600 lbs was 90 percent.
