Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 04/08/2013

Estimated Receipts:  6850   Last Monday:  4747   Yr Ago Monday:  3454

      Compared to last week:  Feeder steers steady to 3.00 lower.  Feeder 
heifers steady to 2.00 lower.  Demand very uneven for feeder cattle.  
Stocker steers and steer calves steady to 2.00 higher; Stocker heifers 
and heifer calves mostly steady.  Demand very good, for stockers and 
calves, especially thin fleshed cattle headed to grass.  Supply includes 
an increased number of new crop calves as well as fleshy fed at feeder 
cattle.  Quality mostly average.  Last week much of Oklahoma saw some 
beneficial rains with 1-3 inches falling in many areas.  More rain and 
storms are in the forecast as a cold front is expected to hit sometime on 
Tuesday.  Receipts this week totaled 82 percent over 600 lbs and 37 
percent heifers
