Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 07/14/2017

Receipts: 3,823        Last Week 1,437        Last Year 5,954              

   Compared to last week:  Feeder steers and heifers lightly tested last
Week and no trend was available, however a much higher undertone was 
noted.  Cattle futures rebounded all week from last week's lows sparking 
buyers interest.  Weather has turned hot and humid and pastures are 
beginning to lose their green.  Grass cattle should be on the very soon.    
Receipts this week consisted of 98 percent over 600 lbs and 48 percent 
heifers.  Unless otherwise stated prices are FOB weigh point with a 2-3 
percent shrink or equivalent and with a 8-12 cent slide on calves and 
4-8 cent slide on yearlings from base weights.  Current sales up to 14 
days for delivery.
