Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 04/14/2017

Receipts: 9,162        Last Week 4,025        Last Year 5,692              

   Compared to last week:  Feeder steers and heifers traded 6.00-8.00
higher on comparable sales.  Cattle futures opened the week higher
increasing demand. Demand for feeder cattle remains very good.  
More rains have fallen in the past week and spring pastures are
greening up nicely.  Receipts this week consisted of 98 percent over 
600 lbs and 42 percent heifers.  Unless otherwise stated prices are FOB
weigh point with a 2-3 percent shrink or equivalent and with a 8-12 cent
slide on calves and 4-8 cent slide on yearlings from base weights.  
Current sales up to 14 days for delivery.
