Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 03/17/2017

Receipts: 3,565        Last Week 3,946        Last Year 5,317              

   Compared to last week:  Feeder steers firm to 3.00 higher.  Feeder
heifers not well tested for current delivery.  Demand good for feeder
cattle as cattle futures improved.  Slaughter cattle prices made another
big jump and beef prices improved as well.  High winds are blowing 
across the state again, drying out much of the area.  Most of the state
is back in some stage of drought.  Receipts this week consisted of 100
percent over 600 lbs and 40 percent heifers.  Unless otherwise stated 
prices are FOB weigh point with a 2-3 percent shrink or equivalent and 
with a 8-12 cent slide on calves and 4-8 cent slide on yearlings
from base weights.  Current sales up to 14 days for delivery.
