Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 05/23/2014

   Compared to last week:  Feeder steers not well tested for current
delivery, very limited sales steady to 2.00 lower.  Feeder heifers not
well tested, few sales were sharply higher.  Demand continues good as
runs remain fairly large.  Most of the graze-off wheat run is over and 
grass cattle are on the move as many pastures are suffering from the
continued drought.  Relief is coming this weekend, especially for 
Western Oklahoma.  Rain is in the forecast for the next 7 days.
Receipts this week included 91 percent over 600 lbs and 41 percent 
heifers.  Unless otherwise stated prices are FOB weigh point with a 
2-3 percent shrink or equivalent and with a 5-10 cent slide on calves 
and 3-6 cent slide on yearlings from base weights.  Current sales up 
to 14 days for delivery.
