Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 05/02/2014

Compared to last week:  Feeder steers and heifers sold mostly steady to firm 
late last week and early this week; however remainder of the week sales were 
2.00 to 4.00 higher.  Strong increases on the CME for late summer and fall 
delivery hit all-time highs seeing the August thru November contract months over 
191.00 and bumping 192.00.  Demand good to very good for feeder cattle.  
Receipts this week included 85 percent over 600 lbs and 39 percent heifers.  
Unless otherwise stated prices are FOB weigh point with a 2-3 percent shrink or 
equivalent and with a 5-10 cent slide on calves and 3-6 cent slide on yearlings 
from base weights.  Current sales up to 14 days for delivery.
