SUMMARY OF 7 MISSISSIPPI CATTLE AUCTIONS HELD IN HATTIESBURG (890), 
FOREST (884), MERIDIAN (188), MACON (427), HOUSTON (349), 
WEST POINT (630) AND GRENADA (279) ON January 13, 2014.

Receipts:    3,647         Last Week:      2,721      Last Year:   2,035

   Compared to last Monday, slaughter cows sold steady and bulls sold 
1.00 to 3.00 higher. Feeder steers and heifers sold 5.00 to 10.00 higher. 
The supply included 10 percent slaughter cows and 9 percent pairs/replacements. 
The feeder supply included 59 percent steers and 41 percent 
heifers, with an estimated 9 percent of the feeder supply weighing over 600 lbs.
