Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 9/20/2016

   Compared to last week, a very light test of steer calves and
heifers sold with a steady to weak undertone, best comparison on
650-750 lb steers selling steady to 2.00 higher. Demand was good
for the yearlings and light to moderate for cattle under 600 lbs,
particularly light for un-weaned calves as the temperature swings
of fall pose health concerns to those cattle who are already stressed.  
Supply was light. The feeder offering consisted of near 65 percent
steers and bulls and 35 percent heifers with 53 percent over 600
lbs. Cows and bulls totaled 18 percent of the offering. Slaughter
cows sold 3.00-5.00 lower.
