Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 8/23/2016

   Compared to last week, on a light test of comparable sales steers
and heifers sold mostly 5.00-10.00 lower. More calves offered this 
week compared to last week?s bigger offering of yearlings. A quality
run was offered, but not the loads this week to push the extreme top
end prices for the yearlings. Cattle futures have continued to trend
lower since last week. Supply and demand was moderate. The feeder 
offering consisted of near 59 percent steers and bulls and 41 percent 
heifers with 58 percent over 600 lbs. Cows and bulls totaled 13 percent 
of the offering. Slaughter cows sold steady to 1.00 lower.
