Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 3/15/2016

   Compared to last week, steers under 750 lbs traded 3.00-10.00
higher, except 500-550 lbs 17.00-20.00 higher; over 750 lbs steady
to 3.00 higher. Heifers under 600 lbs steady to 4.00 higher; 600-
700 lbs 4.00-10.00 higher, and heavier weights steady. The feeder
offering was mostly thinner fleshed cattle that were better suited
for grazing than last week and these cattle were met with very good
demand with a light to moderate supply. Grass is here and buyers are
trying to pick up those grazers while they can. Near 56 percent steers
and bulls and 44 percent heifers with 47 percent over 600 lbs. Cows
and bulls were 10 percent of the offering. Slaughter cows were steady
to 2.00 higher.
