Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 8/21/2018

   Compared to last Tuesday, feeder steers firm to 3.00 higher. Feeder heifers
2.00-6.00 higher. Slaughter cows 1.00-3.00 higher. Demand good to very good. 
Supply moderate. Near 9 percent of the offering were cows and 42 percent of the
feeders were over 600 lbs. Feeder supply approximately 49 percent steers and 
bulls and 51 percent heifers. Offering featured around 250 yearling heifers from
3 consignments along with lots of good quality new crop calves weighing mostly
400-550 lbs. Much of the area has received just enough rain to get a start on 
some fall grass. 
 
   Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1  300-400 lbs 180.00-201.00; 400-500 lbs
165.00-186.00; 500-600 lbs 162.00-170.50; 600-700 lbs 160.00-169.50, few calves
154.00-155.50; 700-750 lbs 155.50-161.50. Medium and Large 1-2  350-400 lbs

stage with 300 lb calves 1400.00 per pair.
