Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 5/9/2017

   Compared to the sale two weeks ago, feeder steers under 600 lbs 10.00-
18.00 higher, over 600 lbs 6.00-10.00 higher. Feeder heifers 3.00-6.00
higher. Slaughter cows 1.00-2.00 higher. Supply heavy. Near 11 percent of
the offering were cows and 39 percent of the feeders were over 600 lbs. 
Feeder supply approximately 59 percent steers and bulls and 41 percent 
heifers. After the large upward move in futures nearly two weeks ago and
slaughter cattle trading at 145.00-147.00/cwt last week, the board has 
been mostly in retreat the past few trading days partly due to concerns 
about our ability to balance supply and demand at these suddenly higher
prices. 

   Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1  300-400 lbs 200.00-215.00; 400-500 lbs
184.00-211.00; 500-600 lbs 162.50-189.00; 600-700 lbs 152.50-179.50; 700-
800 lbs 145.75-155.25, small package calves 707 lbs 140.00; 850-900 lbs 
137.50-140.85. Medium and Large 1-2  300-400 lbs 175.00-202.00; 400-500 lbs
177.00-188.00; 500-600 lbs 154.50-181.00, small package fleshy 576 lbs
