Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 5/10/2016
Receipts: 1174 Week Ago: 1110 Year Ago: 1407
Compared to last Tuesday, feeder steers 6.00-12.00 higher with a few
under 400 lbs 15.00 higher. Feeder heifers 4.00-6.00 higher with some
under 400 lbs 10.00-15.00 higher. Slaughter cows steady. Supply moderate.
Near 10 percent of the offering were cows and 28 percent of the feeders
were over 600 lbs. Feeder supply approximately 65 percent steers and bulls
and 35 percent heifers. The feeder market looks considerably better now
after strong gains in the feedlot trade and higher trending feeder cattle
futures.
