Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 8/25/2015

    Compared to last Tuesday, feeder steers and heifers 8.00-15.00 lower. 
Slaughter cows 3.00-5.00 lower. Supply moderate. Near 16 percent of the
offering were cows and 28 percent of the feeders were over 600 lbs. Feeder
supply approximately 67 percent steers and bulls and 33 percent heifers. The
feeder market is taking a pretty big hit this week due to the stock market 
downturn which is rooted largely in China?s economic woes.  

   Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1  400-500 lbs 244.00-275.00; 500-600 lbs
231.00-254.00; 600-700 lbs 215.00-241.00, several calves/fleshy 206.00-216.50; 
29 head 744 lbs 208.00; small package 861 lbs 186.50. Medium and Large 1-2
300-400 lbs 265.00-316.00; 400-500 lbs 230.00-260.00; 500-600 lbs 224.00-254.00; 
600-700 lbs 207.00-220.50. Medium and Large 2  400-500 lbs 224.00-230.00; 560-
640 lbs 205.00-220.50.  

   Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1  400-500 lbs 223.00-261.00; 500-600 lbs
206.50-220.00; 11 head 664 lbs 194.00, few calves/fleshy 185.00-187.50. Medium
and Large 1-2  300-400 lbs 230.00-280.00; 400-500 lbs 216.50-240.00; 500-600 lbs

   Cow and calf pairs: Medium and Large 1-2, 6 years to short and solid, 875-
1225 lbs, with 250-375 lb calves 2285.00-2600.00 per pair.
