Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 5/13/2014

Receipts:  1657    Last Week: 1557     Year Ago:  1134

   Compared to last Tuesday, feeder steers under 500 lbs steady to 2.00 higher,
over 500 lbs 3.00-6.00 higher. Feeder heifers under 400 lbs steady, over 400 lbs
3.00-6.00 higher. Slaughter cows steady. Supply moderate. Near 22 percent of the
offering was cows and 15 percent of the feeders were over 600 lbs. Feeder supply
approximately 54 percent steers and bulls and 46 percent heifers. Similar feeder
offering to the past several weeks with lots of good quality calves weighing 
600 lbs and down. Special cow sale followed the feeders with some nice bred cows
and pairs. 

   Feeder steers: Medium and Large 1  300-400 lbs 250.00-274.00; 400-500 lbs
225.00-246.50; 500-600 lbs 218.00-229.00, few full/fleshy 204.00-213.00; 600-
700 lbs 202.50-219.25. Medium and Large 1-2  package 287 lbs 265.00; 300-400 lbs
235.00-255.00; 400-500 lbs 217.50-239.50; 500-600 lbs 207.00-226.00; 600-650 lbs
few 206.00-208.00. Medium and Large 2  500-550 lbs 202.50-211.00. Medium 1-2
400-450 lbs 220.00-229.00. 

   Feeder heifers: Medium and Large 1  300-400 lbs 228.00-253.00; 400-500 lbs
208.00-235.50; 500-600 lbs 192.50-214.25, several fleshy 181.00-198.00; 600-
700 lbs 183.50-188.50, 11 head replacements 660 lbs 191.00. Medium and Large 1-2

   Cow and calf pairs: Medium and Large 1-2, 2-7 years, 875-1100 lbs, with baby 
to 200 lb calves 2075.00-2650.00.  Medium 1-2, short and solid, 900-1000 lbs, 
with baby to 150 lb calves 1825.00-1900.00 per pair.
