Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 1/21/2014

Receipts:  1908    Last Week:  2400    Year Ago:  801

    Compared to last Tuesday, feeder steers under 450 lbs steady to 5.00 lower, 
450-600 lbs steady to 5.00 higher and over 600 lbs steady. Feeder heifers steady
except several better quality near 500 lbs 3.00-6.00 lower. Slaughter cows 
steady. Supply moderate. Near 7 percent of the offering was cows and 27 percent 
of the feeders were over 600 lbs. Feeder supply approximately 57 percent steers 
and bulls and 43 percent heifers. The cattle market continues to enjoy abundant
sunshine with slaughter cattle show lists priced at 144.00-145.00/cwt this week 
and a very favorable supply/demand situation in the feeder trade. Lots of cattle
trading hands again this week due to good weather and even better prices. 

   Feeder steers: Medium and Large 1  270-275 lbs few 238.00-239.00; 350-400 lbs
227.00-237.00; 400-500 lbs 210.00-233.00; 500-600 lbs 184.00-223.00, package 
fleshy 579 lbs 171.00; 600-700 lbs 172.50-186.75; 700-800 lbs 160.00-167.00. 
Medium and Large 1-2  300-400 lbs 205.00-229.00; 400-500 lbs 202.00-221.00; 500-
