Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 7/23/2013

Receipts:  985    Last Week:  1164     Year Ago:  1180

   Compared to last Tuesday, feeder steers under 600 lbs 2.00-4.00 higher, over
600 lbs steady to firm. Feeder heifers under 600 lbs 1.00-3.00 higher, over 
600 lbs steady. Slaughter cows 1.00-2.00 higher. Supply moderate. Near 11 
percent of the offering was cows and 55 percent of the feeders were over 
600 lbs. Feeder supply approximately 62 percent steers and bulls and 38 percent
heifers. Prospects for cheaper costs of gain are helping the feeder market with
December corn currently at 4.85/bu.

   Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1  350-400 lbs 173.00-183.00; 450-500 lbs
162.00-163.00; 500-600 lbs 147.50-165.00; 600-700 lbs 144.25-155.85; 700-750 lbs
