Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 4/16/2013

Receipts:  1134    Last Week:  2715    Year Ago: 1139

   Compared to last Tuesday, feeder steers and heifers 6.00-10.00 lower. 
Slaughter cows steady to 1.00 lower. Supply moderate. Near 14 percent of the
offering was cows and 30 percent of the feeders were over 600 lbs. Feeder 
supply approximately 56 percent steers and bulls and 44 percent heifers. The 
feeder trade is lower this week due partly to world stability/economic issues,
continued cattle feeding losses and new concerns about the 2013 corn crop given
the late arrival of spring. 

   Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1  300-350 lbs 179.00-191.00; 400-500 lbs
155.00-172.50; 500-600 lbs 140.00-163.00; 600-700 lbs 127.50-145.00; small
package 740 lbs 124.00. Medium and Large 1-2  small package 244 lbs 182.00; 300-
400 lbs 160.00-174.00; 400-500 lbs 150.00-160.00; 500-600 lbs 140.00-156.00; 
600-700 lbs 125.00-133.00; 700-750 lbs few 120.00-122.50. Medium 1-2  450-
500 lbs 130.00-140.00. Large 3 Holsteins 460-480 lbs 99.00-102.50.
