Feeder Cattle Auction Report for  8/15/2018

   Compared to last Wednesday, feeder steers under 600 lbs steady, over
600 lbs firm to 2.00 higher. Feeder heifers under 600 lbs steady, over
600 lbs firm to 4.00 higher. Slaughter cows 1.00-2.00 higher. Demand 
good. Supply moderate. Near 11 percent of the offering were cows and 52
percent of the feeders were over 600 lbs. Feeder supply approximately 49
percent steers and bulls and 51 percent heifers. Several consignments of
heifers this week weighing 600-700 lbs where the weighted average was 
boosted by a failed attempt to buy a large draft of replacement quality
heifers. Areas around Vienna and to the south saw much need rain overnight
with several reports of 1.00-2.00 inches. 

   Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1  300-400 lbs 185.00-204.00; 400-500 lbs
182.00-195.00; 500-600 lbs 161.00-185.50; 600-700 lbs 156.00-170.00; 700-
750 lbs 156.00-158.50. Medium and Large 1-2  350-400 lbs few 175.00; 400-500 lbs
