Feeder Cattle Auction Report for  7/18/2018

   Based on limited comparisons with last week, feeder steers under 500 lbs 
2.00-4.00 higher, over 500 lbs 4.00-8.00 higher. Feeder heifers 4.00-8.00
higher. Slaughter cows 2.00-5.00 lower. Supply moderate. Near 15 percent of
the offering were cows and 64 percent of the feeders were over 600 lbs. 
Feeder supply approximately 63 percent steers and bulls and 37 percent heifers.
Good quality feeder offering with several reputation consignments. Futures are
putting in a good week so far as strong demand looks like it may hold the 
summer fed low at 106.00/cwt, a feat few would have predicted this spring. 

   Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1  400-500 lbs 181.00-192.00; 500-600 lbs
167.75-182.00; 600-700 lbs 156.00-174.00; 700-750 lbs 152.00-157.50. Medium and
Large 1-2  package 480 lbs 161.00; 500-600 lbs 163.50-171.00; 650-700 lbs 
152.00-156.75; 700-800 lbs 142.00-151.00, package fleshy 730 lbs 132.00; package
920 lbs 126.00.   
 
   Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1  small package 390 lbs 155.00; 400-500 lbs
149.00-155.50; 500-600 lbs 146.00-154.50; 600-700 lbs 136.00-153.50, several 
replacements 149.00-162.50, package full 605 lbs 141.00; package 735 lbs 126.00.
Medium and large 1-2  400-500 lbs 141.00-150.50; 500-550 lbs 141.00-153.00; 600-
700 lbs 126.00-146.00; 700-800 lbs 121.00-124.00, package fleshy 790 lbs 114.00. 
Medium and Large 2  small package 595 lbs 131.00; package 690 lbs 121.00. 

   Feeder bulls: Medium and Large 1-2  400-500 lbs 145.00-162.00.
