Feeder Cattle Auction Report for  5/23/2018

   Compared to last Wednesday, feeder steers under 650 lbs steady, over 650 lbs
3.00-6.00 higher. Feeder heifers 5.00-10.00 higher. Slaughter cows 2.00-3.00
higher. Supply heavy. Near 4 percent of the offering were cows and 33 percent of
the feeders were over 600 lbs. Feeder supply approximately 68 percent steers and
bulls and 32 percent heifers. Outstanding feeder offering with numerous 
reputation consignments from several longtime customers who long ago realized 
the environmental and marketing synergy of fall calving in this area. Several 
weaned calves in the mix but lots of fancy medium flesh calves with one or two 
rounds of shots selling right off their mamas. Live and feeder futures are 
putting in a good week so far making strong gains Wednesday. 

   Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1  300-400 lbs 190.00-209.00; 400-500 lbs
174.00-195.00; 500-600 lbs 162.00-186.25; 600-700 lbs 156.00-174.00, 18 head 
fleshy 640 lbs 149.00; 700-800 lbs 143.50-156.00. Medium and Large 1-2  300-
400 lbs 179.00-192.00; 400-500 lbs 165.00-178.00; 500-600 lbs 155.00-170.00;
600-700 lbs 151.00-160.00; package 775 lbs 149.50; package 925 lbs 114.00. 
Medium and Large 2  small package 550 lbs 148.00; 13 head 790 lbs 128.00.
