Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 4/25/2018

Receipts:  942    Week Ago:  1211    Year Ago:  907

   Compared to last Wednesday, feeder steers under 500 lbs 5.00-10.00 higher, 
over 500 lbs 2.00-5.00 higher. Feeder heifers under 600 lbs 2.00-8.00 higher, 
over 600 lbs not well tested. Slaughter cows steady. Supply moderate. Near 14
percent of the offering were cows and 11 percent of the feeders were over 
600 lbs. Feeder supply approximately 54 percent steers and bulls and 46 percent
heifers. Feeder offering mostly good quality medium flesh fall calves with some
light, green yearlings still in the mix. We?re still waiting for the much 
anticipated wall of cattle when packers will just name their price and shut the
gate when the schedule is filled. For the moment they?ll have to compete as  
rising cutout values and lots of black ink are apparently still using up  
available supplies. 

   Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1  250-255 lbs 232.00-254.00; 300-400 lbs
212.00-227.00; 400-500 lbs 181.00-213.00; 500-600 lbs 165.00-189.00; 600-
700 lbs 151.00-165.50; 700-800 lbs 139.00-148.50. Medium and Large 1-2  350-
400 lbs 186.00-206.00; 400-500 lbs 166.00-191.00; package full 675 lbs 141.00.
Medium and Large 2  small package 330 lbs 175.00; small package 575 lbs 152.00. 

   Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1  270-300 lbs 171.00-178.00; 300-400 lbs
171.00-178.50; 400-500 lbs 156.50-176.50, package fleshy 490 lbs 151.00; 500-
600 lbs 148.50-156.00, small package fleshy 575 lbs 141.00; few 600 lbs 136.00-
144.00. Medium and large 1-2  350-400 lbs 159.00-166.00; 450-500 lbs 152.00-
154.00; 500-600 lbs 141.00-147.00, small package full 540 lbs 134.00; 650-
700 lbs 124.00-128.00. Medium and Large 2  400-500 lbs 142.00-151.00.

   Feeder bulls: Medium and Large 1-2  400-500 lbs 161.00-188.00; 530 lbs 
155.00-165.00; small package 630 lbs 138.50.
