Feeder Cattle Auction Report for  3/1/2017

   Compared to last Wednesday, feeder steers and heifers firm to 3.00 
higher with some calves under 500 lbs 3.00-5.00 higher. Slaughter cows
4.00-5.00 higher. Supply light. Near 7 percent of the offering were cows
and 30 percent of the feeders were over 600 lbs. Feeder supply approximately
57 percent steers and bulls and 43 percent heifers. Higher cutout values
and an improving slaughter trade helped this week?s feeder trade. 

   Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1  300-400 lbs 170.00-195.00; 400-500 lbs
164.50-178.50; 500-550 lbs 163.50-171.00; 43 head 560 lbs 163.00; package
fleshy 595 lbs 136.00; 600-650 lbs 135.00-148.00; 84 head 660 lbs 142.00; 
package 735 lbs 130.25. Medium and Large 1-2  350-400 lbs 160.00-169.00; 400-
500 lbs 157.00-161.00; 650-700 lbs 129.50-132.50. Medium 1  package 535 lbs
