Feeder Narrative Report for 1/21/2016
Cattle and Calves: 1895       Week ago: 1175            Year Ago: 963           

   Compared to last week: Steer calves under 600 lbs firm with several packages 
thin fleshed and value added 5.00-10.00 higher; heifers calves under 500 lbs 
firm in a light offering. Feeder steers over 600 lbs 3.00-5.00 lower; feeder 
heifers 500-600 lbs, and a limited offering over 600 lbs, 5.00-10.00 lower. 
Buyers are beginning to show more interest in summer grazing cattle.
   Slaughter cows and bulls firm to 2.00 higher. Trade fairly active. Demand 
good on light weight calves and moderate on heavier feeders. Bulk of supply 
Medium and Large 1-2 350-1025 lb feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows made 
up 13 percent, slaughter bulls less than 1 percent, bred cows and pairs less 
than 1 percent and feeders 87 percent. The feeder supply included 72 percent 
steers and 28 percent heifers. Near 74 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.

400 lbs 221.00-233.00, pkg 355 lbs value added 237.00, pkg 365 lbs thin fleshed
