Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for Thursday 08/27/2015

Cattle and Calves: 908           Week ago: 768           Year Ago: 759

   Compared to last week:  Feeder steers and heifers under 600 lbs mostly 5.00
lower; over 600 lbs 8.00-10.00 lower.  Slaughter cows steady to 2.00 lower.
Slaughter bulls not well tested.  Trade and demand moderate.  Bulk of supply
Medium and Large 1-2 375-950 lb feeder steers and heifers.  Slaughter cows made
up 28 percent, slaughter bulls less than 1 percent, bred cows and pairs less 
than 1 percent and feeders 72 percent.  The feeder supply included 82 percent 
steers and 18 percent heifers.  Near 60 percent of the run weighed over
600 lbs.

   Feeder Steers Medium and Large 1: pkg 440 lbs 285.00, pkg 415 lbs 281.00;
pkg 545 lbs fancy 235.00, pkg 560 lbs 231.00, pkg 605 lbs 221.00, pkg 685 lbs
