Cattleman's Livestock Auction - Dalhart, TX - Thursday - 01/10/13

Cattle and Calves: 2286     Week ago:  704      Year Ago:  2862            

   Compared to week ago:  Feeder steers and heifers mostly steady to weak 
compared to limited receipts of a week ago; a few load lots of fancier kinds on 
offer sold firm.  Slaughter cows firm.  Slaughter bulls not well tested.  Trade 
and demand moderate to good.  Body condition on receipts mostly moderate flesh 
with a few thin.  Bulk supply Medium and Large 1-2 400-860 lb feeder steers and 
heifers.  Slaughter cows made up 25 percent, slaughter bulls less than 1 
percent, replacement cows less than 1 percent, and feeders 75 percent.  The 
feeder supply included 68 percent steers and 32 percent heifers.  Near 61 
percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.

   Steers:  Medium and Large 1  400-450 lbs 191.00-196.00, pre-conditioned 
204.00-205.00; 450-500 lbs 181.50-187.00; 500-600 lbs 164.00-173.50; 600-700 lbs 
151.00-159.50; two pkgs 745-781 lbs 147.00-147.75, three loads 764 lbs 151.50; 
800-900 lbs 142.00-143.00.
  Medium and Large 1-2  few 300-400 lbs 185.00-190.00; 450-500 lbs 173.50-
