Sheep/Lamb Receipts: 1897 Last Monday: 2086 Year Ago: 861

***Report format change: Traditional markets refer to lambs that are subjected to
USDA carcass grading, and marketed through mainstream outlets. Non-Traditional
markets refer to lambs destined for slaughter outside of what would be termed as
traditional markets. ***
Slaughter Sheep: When compared to last Monday's sale, lambs sold mostly 15.00-
20.00 lower. Because of the remaining three weeks of Ramadan fasting, moderate
demand could not uphold this week's heavier supply. Slaughter ewes sold steady to
10.00 higher on good demand. Slaughter supply consisted of 86 percent lambs, 10
percent slaughter ewes, and 4 percent slaughter bucks. All sheep and lambs are
destined for non-traditional markets. All sheep and lambs are sold by the
hundredweight, on actual weights.
