subjected to USDA carcass grading, and marketed through mainstream outlets.
Non-Traditional markets refer to lambs destined for slaughter outside of what
would be termed as traditional markets. ***
Sheep and Lambs: Compared to last week, Slaughter lambs sold steady to
weak. Slaughter ewes steady to firm. The market was not fully tested due to
reduced report coverage in observation of the Memorial Day Holiday. Demand
was moderate for today's sale. Slaughter supply consisted of 76 percent
lambs, 21 percent slaughter ewes and the remaining 3 percent slaughter bucks.
All sheep and lambs are destined for non-traditional markets. All sheep and
lambs are sold by the hundred weight, on actual weights.
Slaughter Lambs: Non-Traditional Markets: Wooled & Shorn Choice and Prime
2-3 80-110 lbs 200.00-225.00; 150-200 lbs 174.00-177.00. Wooled and Shorn
Choice 2-3 40-60 lbs 180.00-185.00; 60-80 lbs 173.00-200.00; 80-110 lbs
172.00-187.00; 110-130 lbs 157.00-180.00. Good and Choice 1-2 40-60 lbs
155.00-172.00; 110-130 lbs 125.00-137.00; 130-150 lbs 122.00.
Slaughter Ewes: Good 2-3 Medium Flesh 120-160 lbs 72.00-95.00; 200-250 lbs
70.00. Utility 1-2 Thin Flesh 90-120 lbs 56.00-65.00; 120-160 lbs 46.00-
56.00. Cull 1 Very Thin Fleshed 100-160 lbs 32.00-40.00.
Slaughter Bucks: 100-200 lbs 62.00-92.00; 200-300 lbs 62.00-76.00.
Slaughter Goats: When compared to last week, slaughter kids sold 10.00-
15.00 higher with good demand. Nannies traded mostly 10.00 lower. Reported
slaughter supply consisted of 59 percent Slaughter Kids, 30 percent Slaughter
Nannies, and 11 percent bucks/billies and whethers. All Goats are sold by the
head on estimated weights.

168.00; 60-80 lbs 187.00-225.00; 80-100 lbs 225.00-265.00 (Whethers); 100-120
