Sheep and Goat Weighted Average for Monday, October 14, 2013

Sheep/Lamb Receipts: 1613   Last Monday: 2753 
Goat Receipts:       2484   Last Monday: 2541   
    
***Report format change: Traditional markets refer to lambs that
are subjected to USDA carcass grading, and marketed through
mainstream outlets. Non-Traditional markets refer to lambs
destined for slaughter outside of what would be termed as
traditional markets. ***

   Sheep and Lambs: When compared to two weeks ago, slaughter lambs
sold 30.00 to 40.00 higher for the Eid al Adha holiday. With a 
good aboout of lambs in supply, demand seemed to out weight supply. 
Prices continued to climb as the evening wore on. Slaughter ewes 
traded mostly steady. Demand was good for all classes. All sheep 
and lambs are destined for non-traditional markets. All sheep and 
lambs are sold by the hundred weight,on actual weights.

   Slaughter Lambs: Non-Traditional Markets: Wooled & Shorn
Choice and Prime 2-3 40-60 lbs 225.00-230.00; 60-80 lbs 220.00-
240.00; 80-110 lbs 200.00-222.00; 110-140 lbs 176.00-210.00. 
Wooled and Shorn Good and Choice 1-3  40-60 lbs 170.00-220.00; 
60-80 lbs 182.00-215.00; 80-110 lbs 176.00-200.00; 110-130 lbs 
172.00-192.00. Wooled and Shorn Utility and Good 1-2 50-70 lbs 
105.00-135.00; 70-110 lbs 132.00-150.00. 

   Slaughter Ewes: Good 2-3  80-100 lbs 52.00-76.00; 100-150 lbs
55.00-68.00; 150-200 lbs 54.00-64.00. Utility 1-2 Thin Flesh
100-150 lbs 40.00-46.00; 150-200 lbs 40.00-56.00.

   Slaughter Bucks: 150-200 lbs 67.00-78.00. 
                       
   Slaughter Goats: When compared to two weeks ago, slaughter kid
goats started 20.00 to 40.00 higher but as orders were filled
the market dropped sharply with late sales closing 10.00 to 20.00
lower. Slaughter Nanny goats sold mostly 5.00-10.00 higher. Slaughter
billies sold 15.00 to 20.00 lower.
All Goats are sold by the head on estimated weights.
          
    Slaughter Kids: Selection 1  40-60 lbs 120.00-132.00, late sales
107.00-112.00; 60-80 lbs 177.00-202.00, late sales 112.00-130.00; 
80-110 lbs 175.00-202.00. Selection 2 40-60 lbs 70.00-112.00; 
60-80 lbs 106.00-120.00. Selection 3 20-40 lbs 30.00-50.00; 
40-60 lbs 58.00-62.00; 60-80 lbs 60.00-82.00; 80-110 lbs 92.00-96.00.

    Slaughter Nannies/Does: Selection 1 80-130 lbs 152.00-170.00;
130-160 lbs 170.00-182.00. Selection 2 80-130 lbs 120.00-140.00;
130-160 lbs 140.00-160.00. Selection 3 80-130 lbs 74.00-107.00.

    Slaughter Bucks/Billies: Selection 1 100-150 lbs 210.00-235.00, 
late sales 165.00-197.00; 150-200 lbs 240.00-267.00. Selection 2
