Cattle and Calf Auction Report for Monday, April 24, 2017

   Compared to last week, Slaughter steers sold mostly steady. Demand
moderate. High dressing Lean Steers are steers sold primarily to the
ethnic market and most are extremely lean. Those steers sold 2.00-3.00
higher on good demand. Slaughter Holstein steers sold 1.00-2.00 lower
on a very light test. Slaughter heifers not tested. Slaughter cows sold
1.00-2.00 higher. Demand moderate. Slaughter bulls sold 4.00-5.00 higher
on good demand. Cattle supplies included 231 steers; 176 heifers;
248 cows; 138 bulls; and 256 feeder calves. All prices per cwt.
                                                                       
   Slaughter Steers: Choice 2-3  1350-1600 lbs 127.00-129.00. Select 1-2
1300-1600 lbs 118.00-124.00. High Dressing Lean Steers 1300-1700 lbs
121.00-137.50, few 140.00-146.00.

70-125 lbs 135.00-170.00. Number 3  65-125 lbs 100.00-145.00. Utility
65-125 lbs 25.00-85.00.
