Livestock Auction Report for Monday, September 21, 2015

   Compared to last Monday's sale, Slaughter steers sharply lower, instances
17.00-20.00 lower. This due in part to the large supply of steers offered.
High dressing Lean Steers are steers sold primarily to the ethnic market and
most are extremely lean. Today those steers traded 3.00-4.00 lower. Demand
was light. Slaughter cows sold 1.00-3.00 lower compared to last week. Demand
was moderate. Slaughter Bulls sold 3.00-4.00 higher. Cattle supplies included
361 slaughter steers; 237 heifers; 307 cows; 247 bulls and 150 feeder cattle.
All prices quoted per cwt.

   Slaughter Steers: Choice 1-2  1300-1700 lbs 130.00-135.00. Select 1-3  
123.00-129.50. High dressing Lean Steers 121.00-153.00.

   Return to Farm Holstein Calves: Compared to last week, Holstein bull
calves sold 50.00-75.00 lower. No Holstein heifer calves reported due to
length of sale. Demand was moderate. All prices per cwt.  
   
   Holstein Bull Calves:  Number 1  85-105 lbs 300.00-350.00; 75-85 lbs
335.00-375.00. Number 2  90-115 lbs 275.00-300.00; 80-90 lbs 300.00-325.00.
Number 3  95-120 200.00-225.00; 70-90 lbs 225.00-275.00. Utility  95-105
lbs 100.00-125.00; 65-90 lbs 125.00-175.00.  

   Holstein Heifer Calves: Not reported.
