When compared to last Monday's sale, Slaughter steers traded mostly weak
on a very light test. High dressing Lean Steers are steers sold primarily
to the ethnic market and most are extremely lean. Today those steers traded
1.00-2.00 higher than last week. Slaughter cows sold mostly steady to 1.00
higher compared to last week. Demand was good. Slaughter Bulls sold mostly
1.00-2.00 higher. Cattle supplies included 79 slaughter steers; 128 heifers;
304 cows; 67 bulls and 80 feeder cattle. All prices quoted per cwt.
Slaughter Steers: Select 1-3 1350-1600 lbs 156.00-160.00. High dressing
Lean Steers 165.00-179.00.

Return to Farm Holstein Calves: Compared to last week, Holstein bull
calves sold mostly steady to 20.00 higher. Holstein heifer calves sold 20.00-
40.00 higher on a very light test. Demand was good. All prices per cwt.
Holstein Bull Calves: Number 1 120-130 lbs 400.00-435.00; 85-115 lbs
450.00-500.00. Number 2 120-130 lbs 375.00-385.00; 75-110 lbs 425.00-475.00.
Number 3 100-130 lbs 325.00-400.00; 75-100 lbs 350.00-425.00. Utility 65-85
lbs 100.00-200.00; 90-100 lbs 200.00-300.00.
Holstein Heifer Calves: Number 1 85-110 lbs 325.00-350.00; Number 2 75-80
lbs 200.00-275.00; Utility 50-75 lbs 50.00-100.00; 80-110 lbs 125.00-175.00.
