If I Ran a Big Show

I'd have a mobile friendly, exhibitor centered portion of my site where I'd post weight breaks ten minutes before hard copies are put on the wall in order to prevent the mob situations that inevitably arise when they're posted.

You'd be able to sell sponsorship on that thing in half a second.

This particular "Mob Situation" is an annual phenomenon which begins in Fort Worth. Normally nice folks loose all sense of their Southern Manners when they accompany their exhibitors into the makeup ring in Fort Worth! They push, shove, step in front of those of us who don't see as well as others, and they crowd up so we can't move out of way. I witnessed a kid striking another child with his show stick in the ramp leading to the show arena in Fort Worth! Pretty sure I was run over by his parent trying to see the weight breaks in SA.

If I ran a big show, such as San Antonio, I would invest in better facilities. The steer barn is poorly ventilated and is far from spacious.

People in the know have told me that they've already got rather large plans for that.

At Minnesota State Fair 4H show this year you could sign up for automated txt messages that included all schedule announcements, calling and lining up the classes, sale results as they happened, breed division winners etc. They did it somehow through Twitter but you did not have to have a full Twitter account to use it. They had a couple kinks to work out as the week progressed but it really helped a LOT!
