Where did the Ft Worth Placing Steers Come From?

Where did the Ft Worth placing steers come from this year?

The first 1/3 of the steers in each class to enter the ring of course.  Ba-dum-ching.

But seriously, this really has nothing to do with yesterday's post.  It was about seeing how quickly I could generate this map.

What cities, towns, and glorified feedlots produced the steers that branded this year?  I’m glad you asked, the correct answer is actually the I-27 corridor.

Click Here for a detailed page with that information.  Warning: the map takes forever and a day to load on that page.

That big blue dot is Hereford which had 10 branded steers, twice as many as the next, Lubbock.  There’s actually quite a cluster of branded steers there around Lubbock when towns like Abernathy, Idalou, and Slaton are thrown in.

So yes, today’s groundbreaking informative news is that the Texas panhandle is a good place to raise haired show steers.

(47 minutes but only because it was my first try)

I love this "boring" stuff that you post. Hope you keep on sharing some of these maps.
