Mission Statement
What we are
Cattle.com is an educational and commercial resource designed for everyone
associated with the beef industry.
When providing educational information, we will ensure that the primary focus
of each page is to inform and educate our visitors.
When providing commercial information, we will focus on providing as much
information as possible to allow our visitors to make an informed decision.
We will provide relevant advertising opportunities for those interested in
gaining exposure for their operation.
We will constantly develop and improve the technology of our site in order to
provide a better resource for our visitors.
We will constantly strive to provide the highest quality cattle website on
the internet.
We will provide a comprehensive directory of as many cattle producers as
economically possible.
What we aren't
While search engine optimization will be taken into consideration in order to
allow search engines to properly index our pages, it will never take priority
over educational content.
We will not charge for advertising that doesn't benefit the ranch or company
purchasing it. Advertising will never be the focus of this site.
We will never make claims we cannot back up about our technology, we will
allow it to speak for itself. If a competitor develops a tool that we do
not have, we will either create a better tool or refer our visitors to them.
We will never make claims about our traffic without providing the actual
traffic data.
We will never hesitate to link directly to our competition even if they do
not extend us the same courtesy. If their site is better than ours, our
visitors should stay on their site.
We will strive to produce W3C
compliant web pages to ensure those
with disabilities can access
Cattle.com without problems.
The prevalence and success of shallow directory sites that are essentially
glorified phone books has held back the progress of beef websites in general.
There are plenty of websites that exist for the sole purpose of making money by
selling links and 'web design packages'. While Cattle.com is developing a
comprehensive cattle breeder directory for our users, we will never base our
business model on charging for links. That business model has failed in
the general internet and will ultimately fail in agriculture.
