Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 05/14/2013
Receipts: 430 Last Week: 1650 Year Ago: 1150
Not enough feeders for an adequate market test. Slaughter cows sold
steady to 2.00 lower and bulls sold steady. Demand was light for feeders
and good for baby calves. Second day of 90 degree temps in the area.
Farmers are busy planting and hoping for some moisture so crops and grass
can continue to grow. Supply included 72 percent slaughter cattle. Of the
feeders 39 percent steers with only 35 percent of the feeders over 600
lbs.
