Compared to last Monday at the same market, not enough stocker or feeder
cattle last week for accurate price trends. Trade active with very good
demand. Cattle futures continued higher today after Friday?s small
advance. Slaughter cattle sold sharply higher with good movement. All this
after beef traded another week to the down side. Slaughter cows weak to 1.00
lower. Slaughter bulls steady to firm. Weighing conditions in buyer?s favor.
Trade active with very good demand. Slaughter cows made up 44 percent of
the offering, slaughter Bulls 10 percent, and feeders 46 percent of the supply.
The feeder supply included 38 percent steers and 62 percent heifers.
Near 50 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
Feeder Steers Medium and Large 1-2: 400-500 lbs 176.00; 500-600 lbs 171.00-181.00;
600-700 lbs 153.00; 600-700 lbs 169.00, Thin Fleshed. Large 1: 700-800 lbs 146.00; 1000-1100 lbs 117.00.
Bulls Medium and Large 1-2: 300-400 lbs 167.00; 400-500 lbs 170.00;
500-600 lbs 155.00; 600-700 lbs 139.00; 700-800 lbs 133.00. Large 1-2: 900-1000
Lbs 128.00.
Feeder Heifers Medium and Large 1-2: 400-500 lbs 159.00-170.00; 500-600 lbs
