   Compared to last Monday at the same market, stocker and feeder cattle were 
sharply lower in a light test. Trade active with moderate to good demand for small 
lots and singles. Cattle futures fell the limit for feeders and down hard for live 
cattle today.  Many are scratching their head as to why.  Beef prices last week 
gained 10.00 and cash slaughter cattle held mostly steady with fairly good 
movement. Slaughter cows and bulls steady. Weighing conditions in buyer?s favor. 
Trade active with good demand. Slaughter cows made up 53 percent of the offering, 
slaughter bulls 5 percent, 20 percent replacement cows, and feeders 22 percent of 
the supply. The feeder supply included 70 percent steers and 30 percent heifers. 
Near 43 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.        
      
   Feeder Steers:  Medium and Large 1-2:  500-600 lbs 156.00-165.00;  500-600 lbs 
171.00, Thin Fleshed;  600-700 lbs 135.00-140.50;  800-900 lbs 121.00-124.00.  

   Feeder Bulls:  Medium and Large 1-2:  95 lbs 250.00, Per Head.  Small 4:  100-
200 lbs 100.00, Per Head.

   Feeder Heifers:  Medium and Large 1-2:  200-300 lbs 465.00, Per Head;  500-600 
lbs 135.00-137.00;  600-700 lbs 131.00.  Small and Medium 2-3:  300-400 lbs 126.00.
