Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 08/24/2015
Receipts: 528 Last Week: 520 Year Ago: 395
Compared to last report at the same market, stocker and feeder cattle weak in
a light test. Trade active with good demand. Slaughter cows mostly 2.00 to 7.00
lower. Most Cow/Calf producers in the trade area are having to feed hay already
due to dry conditions. Much of the feeder supply came from parts of the area
greatly impacted by recent fire activity. Slaughter bulls 4.00 to 11.00 lower.
Trade very active with very good demand. Slaughter cows made up 45 percent of
the offering, Slaughter bulls 5 percent, and feeders 50 percent of the supply.
The feeder supply included 77 percent steers and 23 percent heifers. Near 35
percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1: 400-500 lbs 226.00-233.00; 500-
600 lbs 212.00-229.50; 700-800 lbs 162.00-200.00; 800-900 lbs 182.00-
191.00; 900-1000 lbs 162.00-166.00. Medium and Large 1-2: 300-400 lbs 225.00-
240.00; 500-600 lbs 206.00-218.00; 600-700 lbs 194.00-208.50.
Feeder Holstein Steers: Large 2-3: 400-500 lbs 127.00-154.00; 500-600 lbs
168.00.
Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1: 400-500 lbs 220.00-226.00. Medium and
Large 1-2: 300-400 lbs 215.00-228.00; 400-500 lbs 184.00-214.00; 500-600 lbs
177.00-210.00; 600-700 lbs 180.00-198.00.
