Alabama Auctions Daily Summary
Alabama livestock auctions that were held Thursday April 17, 2014.

Cattle Receipts:  1,865   Last Week:  1,742   Last Year:  1,698

Compared to a week ago: Slaughter cows and bulls sold mostly 
steady. All feeder classes sold mostly steady. Trade moderate 
with moderate demand on feeders. Replacement cows and pairs sold 
mostly steady. Slaughter cows made up 10 percent of the offerings, 
bulls 1 percent, replacement cows and pairs 10 percent, and 
feeders 79 percent. The feeder supply included 26 percent steers, 
40 percent heifers, and 34 percent bulls. Near 10 percent of the 
run weighed over 600 lbs.
